NELKEN Line: MKE

MDTN poster Nelken.jpg

Join Pina Bausch's fans and people all over the world as we perform the NELKEN-Line in Milwaukee! We will video our work and it will be shared to the Pina Bausch Foundation website, joining videos shared by others that have now performed the choreography all over the world during this year long global project.

Communities across the world celebrating Pina's movements and giving everyone—no matter their age, language or ability—a chance to feel her iconic choreography in their own body.

Milwaukee Dance Theater Network invites everyone to join the NELKEN-Line:MKE !

No dance experience is required. Participants learn the four gestures on site from MDTN site managers Julia Edwards and Posy Knight. Participants will then perform the gestures in an outdoor parade at each site while being filmed by MDTN’s Christal Wagner, who has a keen eye for filming dance with perspective and depth. The video will be edited and shared on the Pina Bausch Foundation website by June, 2018.

Participants are welcome to perform at one or both sites. Registration is requested (see below).

Please arrive right on time, wearing comfortable clothing and accessories for the weather. We will film in warm weather and light rain. Please bring water, footwear and umbrellas as appropriate.
